Show Statement:

Roadside Attractions delights in the playful, nostalgic pull of the American road and the mythic West. Featuring Steve Bormes’s glowing found‑object sculptures and Timothy McOmber’s cowboy pop paintings, the show serves up a roadside carnival of light, color, and wink‑worn memory.

Bormes gathers discarded objects, salvaged metal, and lights, reassembling them into small beacons of joy—neon altars to detours, rest stops, and late‑night horizons. His pieces hum with history and humor, turning cast‑off commerce into luminous relics that feel equal parts shrine and roadside snack stand.

McOmber meanwhile outfits cowboy lore in bright, bold hues. His paintings flatten filmic Westerns and motel glamour into bold, tongue‑in‑cheek tableaux where spurs glitter like pop stars and horizon lines read like billboard punchlines. Nostalgia is both sincere and sly: a wink to the past that invites you to sing along.

Together, Bormes and McOmber create a traveling sideshow of memory—where neon meets nostalgia and the open road becomes a stage. Roadside Attractions is an invitation to pull over, press a coin into the jukebox of American myth, and smile at the familiar oddities that keep calling us back
