MARGIE RECK

SCULPTURE + 3D

ARTIST BIO

Designing and creating three-dimensional art from natural objects is both a joy and a challenge for Margie.  The process begins with choosing a dried, hard-shelled gourd as a canvas. The variety of shapes, colors and sizes including natural imperfections, influence the composition of the mixed-media vessel.

Whether utilizing antlers, pine needles, horse hair, philodendron sheaths, stones, or beads, Margie incorporates nature’s treasures into a composition that becomes uniquely her own. Now, over twenty-five years later, she is still experimenting and captivated with designing and creating gourd vessels.

Margie’s studio is located in the shadow of Red Mountain on the family ranch in Cameron, Montana.
